Good morning! It’s 9:39 here in good ol’ Indiana, and in an effort to make more regular posting in between my time to research subjects for the blog, I decided to present to you guys some of our local environmental champions;
The Wildcat Guardians!
From there own webpage: http://www.wildcatguardians.org/AboutUs.htm
Wildcat Guardians are a group of citizen volunteers dedicated to improving and protecting the health and beauty of Wildcat Creek in north central Indiana, about 50 miles north of Indianapolis. Headwaters are in Tipton and Grant counties. The Wildcat flows west into the Wabash River near Lafayette, IN. The entire watershed includes parts of 7 counties. Sections of the Wildcat are designated state scenic streams.
The wildcat Guardians are a group I hope to be able to join in the coming year. It pains me to think our local creeks aren’t safe for my daughter to play in. A section of the Wildcat runs right though our favorite park, Highland park, right here in Kokomo. Just a week or so ago, the family and I took a stroll along the creek to enjoy the wildlife, but our spirits were dampened by finding things like tires in the park section of the creek.

Just to give you guys an idea of what I’m talking about. This isn’t just one little town creek but a state wide water system!
Time to head to my day job! More information on the Wildcat to come!
